Ian has over twenty years of experience in a variety of schemes covering a broad range in landscape design, planning and environmental projects and currently heads HED’s education sector.

Since joining Hyland Edgar Driver in April 1998, Ian has been the project landscape architect for numerous hard and soft landscape projects, including Festival Place retail centre in Basingstoke, an equestrian and private Royal Park in Riyadh, a leisure development in Ayla, Jordan, a number of retail outlets in Bicester and Belfast, residential schemes in Farnham and Chichester, healthcare facilities in Aldershot and educational schemes in Essex, Havering, Haringey and Kent.

Working with sometimes challenging budget and time constraints, Ian oversees the delivery of all HED’s education projects from nursery to higher education both newbuild and refurbishment, ensuring provision of best quality and innovative design, resulting in an impressive portfolio.

Recent projects include the design and implementation of a number of primary schools including Invicta Primary in Greenwich; Wingfield Primary, Greenwich, Farleigh School a private primary school in Hampshire; secondary schools; Bulmershe Secondary in Reading and Lanfranc Academy in Croydon; further education colleges; a new campus at Waterloo for Lewisham & Southwark Collage (LESOCO) and refurbishment works at University of London for the School for Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).
