Jon has over twenty years’ experience in landscape architecture with a passion for planting and a penchant for problem solving through construction design and detailing. Since joining HED in February 2002, he has been involved in delivering large scale projects such as the public realm of Spinningfields, a major regeneration project in central Manchester to create a new business district. The development is a combination of office, retail and residential development covering 9 hectares in the centre of Manchester and continues to be a success.
Jon has also worked on the masterplanning and coordination of a number of other projects, including the mixed use regeneration scheme Tipner in Portsmouth, The Forthquarter Waterfront development in Edinburgh and Haringey Heartlands both former National Grid gas storage and production sites.
In addition to regeneration Jon has worked within the sport and events sector on a number of stadia, including Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, Fulham Football Club, Twickenham Rugby Football Club and most notably the 2012 London Olympic Stadium and event infrastructure.
City centre regeneration has included St David’s II Cardiff, Princesshay Leisure Exeter, and Redcliff Quarter Bristol that included work stages from concept, planning, detail design and construction on site. In London, Jon has developed detailed design proposals for the public realm, routes and spaces around Tower 42, 15 Bishopsgate.
Overseas Jon’s portfolio has included mixed use and leisure masterplans on the Mediterranean coast of North Africa, sub Sharia Africa, Russia and across the Middle East and most recently Dubrovnik in Croatia.
