Will Nicholson, Associate

Will joined Hyland Edgar Driver in January 2025 with over 20 years’ experience in public realm, environmental, education and healthcare, mixed-use and residential, sports and leisure sectors, across the UK and MENA region.

He has been involved in schematic design stages for a number of large scale commercial developments in Riyadh, KSA, and a large commercial scheme Tonbridge Wells, Kent.

Before joining HED, his signature projects include Qiddiya Theme Park and the Qiddiya Stadium Precinct in Qiddiya City (KSA). For the FIFA 2022 Lusail Stadium and Al Thumama Stadium, Doha Will led the landscape design team through a variety of design stages both within the project management team and under the Design and Build Contractor.

Residential and mixed-used experience comprises the landscape masterplans for large urban extensions in West Sussex and the landscape components for a planning submission for an ‘Arts and Crafts’ extension to Poundbury (Dorchester, UK).

Environmental projects include a landscape appraisal and ‘visioning’ strategy for a 14km stretch of the South Coast (UK), an in-depth baseline analysis of both existing and historic land use to develop an understanding of the context-appropriate opportunities for future landscape change.

He also led the landscape proposals for Tadcaster’s Flood Alleviation Scheme aiming to better integrate engineering proposals with the fabric of the historic town.
